Who we are in Christ - 1

Who we are in Christ is bundle of Revelations that greatly contributed to my maturity as a Christian after I received Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior. These Revelation really transformed the way I live and I way I see myself. So lets begin:

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new. 

When you received Jesus Christ as Lord, you are made a new creature. The Old way of Life comes to an end and a new way of Life begins. There is a change takes place in you. This change is that you are made Righteousness. You are no longer a sinner, but a Man full of the Righteousness of God. 

For it is written:

2 Corinthians 5:21

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 

A lot of Christian do not understand Salvation because they do not understand sin. Whenever the word "sin" appears in the book Romans for instance, that word is not talking about sin as an action. The Greek word for sin used there, is actually talking about a Sin Nature or the tendency to sin. That same meaning is intended in 2 Corinthians 5:21 as well. Jesus Christ was made to be Sin Nature, that we might be made Righteousness Nature. The Bible teaches that Jesus was tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15). Jesus committed no sinful actions and neither did he have a Sin Nature. It was God who made him to be Sin Nature on the cross. 

Now Sin Nature and Spiritual Death are closely linked. If a Man is spiritually dead, He has a Sin Nature. If a Man is spiritually alive, He has a righteousness Nature. 

What is Spiritual Death?

It is a state where Man is separated from God. When Jesus was on the cross, he was made Sin Nature and God separated himself from Jesus. That is why Jesus cried out, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me." (Matthew 27:46). If Spiritual Death is separation from God, Spiritual life is a state where man has right standing with God.

You got to stop looking at sin as a action, rather look at it as a state of being. Sin really is a state where Man is separated from God. Therefore righteousness is a state where Man is in right standing with God.

John 5:24

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and beleiveth on him that sent me, hath ever-lasting life, and not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 

When you received Jesus Christ as Lord, you passed from death to life. What I taught above should make this verse even more clearer. You have passed from Spiritual Death to Spiritual Life. You have passed from Sin Nature to Righteousness Nature. You have passed from Sin to Righteousness. Old things are passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
