Who we are in Christ - 8

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold all things are become new.

What we are trying to understand, is who we are in Christ. The above verse says we are New creatures in Christ. In past couple of posts I've taught you that it is your Spirit that is a New Creature. When you receive Jesus Christ as Lord, God removes the Sin Nature and put within you a Righteousness Nature (a state where man is in right standing with God). I urge you to read the earlier post before you read this one.

In this post I want to talk about Righteousness. Righteousness is right standing before God. When you receive Jesus Christ as Lord, God gives you his righteousness. (2 Corinthians 5:21). You now have the ability to stand before God without guilt, condemnation or inferiority.

For it is written:

Romans 8:1

There if therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,

The Throne Room of Grace

This truth should change the way to see yourself. You are no longer a poor old sinner. You are no longer dust.  You are now a child of God (John 1:12), holy as God is holy and you have the ability to stand before the creator of the entire universe without guilt, condemnation or inferiority. And if that is not all, he has made us sit with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.

For it is written:

Ephesians 2:4-6

And God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

God has lifted you up higher than angels. He has lifted you up higher the Cherubim. You are higher than lucifer before he rebelled against God. You are now seated at the right hand of God and share the government of the entire Universe with its creator God. I do not know about you but right now, I am jumping with joy and thankfulness.

God has put all things under your feet.

For it is written:

Psalm 8:4-9

What is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than God
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
