One of the most distinct marks of a true born-again Christian is his fearless attitude towards death. In the Bible this fearless attitude is seen throughout when men and women of God faced threats of imprisonment and death.
Paul said: From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city,in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness - (2 Corinthians 11:24-27)
Yet this did not stop Paul from accomplishing God's plan and purpose for his life. He went on to plant churches across the globe. When he spoke and preached he demonstrated the power of God. He, by Divine Revelation also wrote major portions of the New Testament Bible. (2 Peter 3:16)
Truly, a man who does not fear death is unstoppable. What is the worst thing that can happen to him anyway? Either he dies and spends eternity with God or he lives and fulfills God's plan and purpose for his life. Either ways he WINS. Like Paul said: For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith, that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again. (Philippians 1:21-26)
